This November 1-30, Rideshare Month encourages people to replace drive-alone trips with rideshare trips.
What is ridesharing? It can be carpooling, vanpooling, taking the bus, light rail, or train.
Share a ride 10 times during the month of November and log those miles on the trip calendar at RideTogetherPierce.com for a chance to win one of these great prizes:
- Three $50 gift cards
- Five $20 gift cards
- 25 $10 gift cards
You can rideshare to work with your coworkers, to a sporting event (Seahawks games, anyone?), a gathering with friends and family, and so much more. Here are some resources to get you started:
Carpool – Share the ride to a restaurant, show, or other outing. For help finding a carpool, complete a ridematch application at RideshareOnline.com.
Vanpool – Commute to work once a week, or every day with your coworkers. You only need 3 people to start a vanpool, and in an Intercity Transit (Thurston County) vanpool, your first month is free.
Bus – Leave your parking woes behind and hop on the bus. Can't take the bus all the way? Complete your trip by biking or driving part way.
Light Rail – Walk, bike or drive part way and catch the T Line through Tacoma or Line 1 from Angle Lake to Northgate in Seattle.
Sounder Train – The Sounder Train travels between Lakewood and Everett during commute hours. Giddy up on that train to work, the next Seahawks game, show or other outing.
