Bike Team Rules and How to Create a Bike Team
Community members can participate in the Bike Everywhere Challenge by riding a bike to work, a business, a park, or anywhere with a destination. Create or join a team with friends, neighbors, or coworkers on the trip calendar at RideTogetherPierce.com and start logging your bike trips (instructions below). Teams with a minimum of four members are in the running for the pizza party. Riders must be 18+ to log trips and win prizes.
The new trip calendar allows individuals and teams to view the Bike Month leaderboards in real time!
Bike Everywhere Challenge Team Rules
- Teams must have 4-12 participants including one captain.
- Multiple teams may be formed at the same workplace or in your community.
- During the Bike Everywhere Challenge, participants log bicycle trips in the online calendar at RideTogetherPierce.com.
- Bike at least 10 trips (5 roundtrips) each to be considered for the team pizza party prize.
Team Captain Responsibilities
- Recruit team members from your place of employment, your building or your community.
- Choose a team name, something fun and splashy, or perhaps something that best describes your company, type of work or group.
- Follow the directions below to register your team.
- If riding to work, act as a liaison between team members and your Employee Transportation Coordinator (ETC), if applicable. Report registration and results to the ETC for your workplace.
- Captains may decide to elicit support from their employer to encourage participation or provide support and incentives. Support could include providing bike maps, assisting with route planning, forming commuter convoys or hosting a bike mechanic pop-up. Incentives could include bike accessories, a small gift card to a local bike shop or retailer, a breakfast station, flex schedule on bike days, or extra paid time off.
- Encourage teammates to log their rides for a chance to win prizes!

On your trip calendar dashboard, you can toggle between the individual and team leaderboards on the right bottom side.
How Can Our Team Win, and What Do We Win?
The top three performing teams will be invited to a combined pizza party. The top performing teams will be determined by the highest number of bike rides logged by members who logged more than 10 trips during May 1-31. Logging 10 trips is a pre-qualification for any prize during Bike Month. Ride Together Pierce staff will reach out to the winning team captains to organize a pizza dinner celebration with all three teams.
