PIERCE TRANSIT AND SOUND TRANSIT GUIDELINES

Buses around Pierce County make it easy for you to take your bike along with you! Here are a few things to know about taking your bike on the bus:

Bikes on Buses - PIERCE TRANSIT AND SOUND TRANSIT GUIDELINES

  • There is no additional charge for taking your bike on the bus.
  • Pierce Transit and Sound Transit buses have front racks that hold bikes (two or three, depending on the bus).
  • Bikes can be loaded onto the racks at any transit stop and during all operations hours.
  • Folded bikes are allowed inside the bus.
  • If the bike rack is full, you may ask the driver if they can allow you on the bus with your bike. If not, wait for the next bus to arrive.

Riders worried about loading their bike on the rack can practice at one of the many community events Pierce Transit attends with a bus.

If you inadvertently leave your bike on a Pierce Transit bus, you should call customer service at 253-581-8000.
